The 1971 War Memorial is dedicated to the service personnel, who in the highest traditions of the Indian Armed Forces, made the supreme sacrifice during the numerous occasions that the Indian Navy was engaged in military action, including the 1971 war.
The overall theme of the Maritime Exhibition is Make in India. It will showcase Innovation, Indigenisation and potential of the youth of our country. Participation by PSU and Private industry under the categories float, move and fight has been planned.
A press conference will be hosted by Admiral RK Dhowan, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, ADC, The Chief of the Naval Staff. The CNOs and heads of delegations of participating navies will also be in attendance.
An opening ceremony is planned as a curtain raiser/ ice breaker event. It is planned to provide a ‘feel’ of both the rich cultural heritage, traditions and a contemporary India.
